Byron Nelson

We drove South for Memorial Day, spending a night with Matt's Aunt and Uncle in Dallas. I was surprised that the kids weren't too crazy after the long drive just 2 days after the CO drive, but I'm sure they were loud enough for Johnny and Jackie. We had a nice dinner with them in the backyard and pictures the next morning before taking off to the Byron Nelson golf tournament. Grayson enjoyed their nice big yard, but was a little leery of the owl's house...no spottings unfortunately.

The golf tournament was fun, a first for all but Matt. I was glad Matalley didn't scream in the middle of a shot, even though she preferred to be walking the paths instead of watching the action. She clapped at appropriate times too. Grayson was frustrated that he couldn't see the holes and wanted to know why one golfer hit his shot into the snack stand. The photo is of them in the fedex cup, although the cup is cut off so that doesn't really prove anything (Matalley is sitting in it, with Grayson crouching behind her).

We went on to Mimi's house and had a really nice time. The whole day Saturday (at the golf tourny, etc.) Grayson kept asking, "when are we going to Mimi's?" He was really excited to get there and Mimi didn't disappoint with lots of surprises, like capsules that expanded in water, dollar men, bird houses, and more. The kids played hopscotch, had a parade,Played some with cousin Dylan, and just really enjoyed their Mimi.Grayson was especially sad to leave and even today asked me when we could go back.
