My 23 Month Old, Week 4

Call me sentimental, but I'm tearing up a lot during Matalley's last week as a 1 year old. The weekly e-mails from babycenter that tell me what Matalley's peers are up to are about to go to monthly e-mails and since she copycats EVERYTHING big bro does, she's growing up way faster than I'm prepared for her to. So what is she up to you ask?

• She's a sleeper...unlike G, Matalley likes to sleep in (as long as the room is dark) and it's quiet.
  
• She's a carnivore. Meat is the first thing she reaches for at the table, fruits second. Veggies and pasta are hit or miss. Today we had cucumber sandwiches for lunch and she pulled the sandwich apart looking for the meat (pulled out the cucumbers first, then peeled off the butter, then moved the bread off her plate and said, "meat please.").
• She is a tease...purposely saying no or looking away and then slowly peeking up at you with a sly smile to catch your smile. She also likes to peak up and say Boo or pull my hair over my face and then pull it back quickly with a boo.
• She's a total girl while shopping, pulling back each item and saying, "cute!"
• She has a love/hate relationship with her shoes. She puts them on in the morning with the expectation that we will be going somewhere (she chooses the shoe, pulls it on wrong foot and all), but as soon as we're back home or in the car, the socks and shoes come off.
• She likes to say, while nodding her head, "one more Mommy, one more" with her index finger pointed up.
• She points out "mine," "graykay's," "mommy's," and "daies" with everything and if Matt isn't around, she'll say, "Daey at work."
• She's very good at screaming, which is actually something we are working to curtail.
  
• She runs and dances like a ballerina on her toes, just like a little fairy.
• She gives good hugs and kisses and if I'm not paying attention will hold my face in her 2 little hands to get me to look at her so that she can tell me something.

Her birthday party is this weekend. We're having a Dance Party (the invitations were cds) and will have fun with family and friends. Happy Birthday Matalley!
