Doll Strapped

Remember over a year ago when I was struggling with the whole van image? It's funny that I was so concerned about it. Like the outside of the vehicle was the only thing that would define me as a Mom. If not only for the crayons ground into the carpet and the shoe prints on the back of the seat, I have to contend with dolls strapped in seat-belts in the front (No, I was not in the car when they did this and yes, it did take me 2 whole blocks before I noticed).
Other things worth mentioning from this week: Grayson likes to hug Ihpity (or my basketball belly) after giving me a hug...very sweet.

On President's day, I read them the story of George Washington and the cherry tree and a picture book about Abraham Lincoln. I also had some worksheets for them to color. Grayson immediately asked if he had to go to school again or if I was his new teacher.

Matalley did not want to eat the tuna melts I made for lunch the other day. She said that the hungry catapillar got sick on them so she wanted a leaf. That lead into a whole other discussion about why spinach leaves are okay to eat but tree leaves are not.

Today I had a discussion with Grayson about saying no to drugs (all because of a news story on tv). Motherhood is a very humbling experience...Not only contending with my image while peanut butter stains are wiped on my sleeve and my hair is in obvious need of a haircut but I seriously don't have all the answers. My kid isn't even in grade school yet and already I'm feeling like I need to pay for some more education...mine.
