We went to Ash Wednesday service yesterday. Matalley thought it was pretty funny that Lola got ashes on her head but to me it was a sobering moment.
For you are dust, and to dust you shall return. None of us know how much time we have left on this earth. I’m thankful, however, that the ashes are not a threat of the life we will leave. While the ashes represent the sin and repentance I feel; they’re about the death of the God who sacrificially forgives my failure and gives me hope for the life we will one day live.
