Deep End

My Dad told me that when people ask if having four kids is tougher than three, I should respond with the following: "Well if three kids is just like standing in the deep end when you can't swim, four kids is handing you a baby when you are in the same situation."  I know I am my own harshest critic but if I hear one more person ask me where Millie's socks are, I am going to jump in the deep end.  Crawlers don't keep socks or shoes on well and though I know it's cold outside, she doesn't have a hat or mittens on either so how is that different than no socks? She's not complaining (and I've been with a baby who's cold (think Grayson at Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade when he refused to wear mittens and it was freezing) so I'm thinking she's okay for the 24 seconds it takes to get from the house to the car.

She had her 9 month appointment and is in 50th percentile for everything again...honestly the first of my 4 to not drop down a percentage each visit. The girl can eat (she does eat more than Lola) and fusses as soon as you put her in the high chair until you remove her from the high chair (unless she falls asleep in it first). Head circumference 43.6cm, weight is 18 pounds 7 ounces, and height is 27 inches. She's a happy baby, rarely cries (unless hungry), and very active. She's into everything and balancing on her feet preparing to take her first steps. She can say hi (waves her hand and all) and maybe mama (not sure if she's just practicing her "m" sound or if she really knows it's me.

This weekend Millie and I traveled to Colorado for a couple days and had lots of fun. It was her first plane ride and she was excited. She refused to sleep but didn't fuss. We did have one weird man tell me he just had to touch my baby and proceeded to pat her head and then her cheeks and the whole time I'm thinking, "QUIT TOUCHING MY BABY!!"

We shopped for 6 hours on Monday and she just chilled in the bjorn the whole time (barefoot) and then today we went to the Colorado Supreme Court building for a tour. The building is beautiful and so much thought went into making it so.
She was happy the whole time. Maybe she'll be a judge when she's older (or a deep sea driver with all the practice swimming in the deep end with me)?!?!
