First Day of School Already

We were not quite ready to give up summer but school started really early this year. The first day back snuck up on us...honestly the kids didn't have time to be bored this summer so we were NOT ready to go back.
The first day was a success despite my desire to practice Peter Pan's philosophy. Grayson decided to transfer to another middle school before school started so I was really the most nervous for him. His new school is actually more convenient for me but ALL his friends went to the school he was slated to attend. Perhaps due to to my own middle school flashbacks, I just feared he would hate his first day and instead he loved it. We started a mother/son bookclub in 5th grade and one of the boys from the combos we invited ended up having the same lunch as Grayson. A familiar face is all Grayson needed. Judd is also on Grayson's competitive soccer team that he joined the first part of August so now they are destined to be friends. My other fear was that Lola would have a panic attack like she did in kindergarten but there was no trepidation this year. She walked in confidently and seems to love all aspects of school, just like Matalley. Millie is still going to Ms. Jemmifer's Yay for successes!

I still love that this posse trolls the neighborhood on their way home.
To celebrate the end of the first week, we had a silly string party. It lasted less than 5 minutes.
Millie is not a fan of silly string. She especially hates it in her hair. Now if I could just get her to feel that way about jelly in her hair, my life might be simpler.
