Labor Day weekend was a quick trip to Colorado to see the cousins one last time before a long stretch of months. With school and sports, our monthly, bimonthly trips to CO have been less frequent and don't you know that I long for those Colorado summers. What better way to spend the last few days of summer could there be? We loved hanging out with the cousins.
Millie promptly hit her nose on the steering wheel and had a bloody nose for another week. A month later she had a bloody nose and blamed it on the space ship so it will have lasting effects for her.We were lucky to catch a few of Emily's volleyball games too since she had a tournament. Emily plays on varsity in a highly competitive high school and so what a treat to see more than one match. The cousins enjoyed their time together too and sweet Emily gave everyone a hug and thanked them for coming in front of all her teammates. I think they felt pretty special to be appreciated by their idol:)
Lola showed off what she has been learning over her first few days of school. I guess she really likes school.
Another treat was having my Great Uncle Todd and cousin Sandy come into town while we were there. Uncle Todd hasn't visited Colorado since my wedding 17 years ago (we have seen him in Ohio a few times). We enjoyed stories of my Daddy's youth and even got the old Model T that was my Dad's hotrod as a boy going again. Grayson got to take it for a spin.
We ended our return trip with some snow cones to celebrate the official last day of summer. Summer 2017 we will miss you!
