Bruiser

I never wanted a wuss for a kid, but it's kind of nervewracking having the bully. How many parents will I have to face in elementary school to apologize for my kid's overabundent energy? Thursday, I picked up Grayson from daycare to learn that he had thrown a toy at a kid (and not a little truck or ball, but a very large and heavy plastic toy). Apparently it knocked the kid off his feet and caused a large bump on his head. Grayson didn't do it out of anger and I don't think it was on purpose but none the less, he can't do that. His teacher thinks it has to do with the fact that Grayson knows I stay home with Matalley all day. He has also been very defiant and stubborn. I chalk it up to the terrible 2's but there is a little bit of payback in there as well. Mom always said she wanted me to have a child to act "just like" me and I think she can claim vindication. Apparently I was also a little defiant and stubborn. (A lot if you talk to my uncles). So I spent some Mommy only time with Grayson this weekend and am trying to maintain my patience. Thankfully he hasn't taken out any aggression on Matalley. It's funny though; he is so not the gentle type. The mere smell of him causes Matalley to start crying. He likes to smother her with kisses and hugs, which is incredibly cute and torturous for Matalley. I hope they grow up close and that he will be a protective big brother (at least I know he'll be able to beat up anyone that wrongs her).

It's so funny that you can already see the difference between girls and boys at this age. Lia is VERY stubborn, but when it comes to other children, she's gentle and kind. Her teachers tell us that she's the care-giver of the class room! The boys at her daycare are all rough and tumble...I don't think you have a bully on your hands...just a normal little boy!

I agree.......boys are simply rougher.

I like the line about the smell of him upsetting Matalley!
