When is it a bad idea to go to the grocery store?

  1. You are in a hurry because it's close to dinnertime so the kids could have a meltdown any minute.
  2. Your 3 year old begins crying hysterically because he wants to see Bompa and Yiayia "right now."
  3. You are only headed to the grocery store due to unexpected need for dinner food because the flight you were supposed to take at 4pm to CO was cancelled at 8 am due to the expectation of snow in CO.
  4. You're frustrated because the next available flight at 8am the next morning to CO is cancelled at 6pm due to the expectation of snow in Amarillo.
  5. It's 6pm (it's always busy at the end of a work day).
  6. You notice the parking lot is unusually full...park-all-the-way-in-the-very-back-like-it's-Christmas-at-the-mall-full.
  7. The "Got milk?" mobile van is set up in the parking lot and it is sure to stall a 3 year old from making it into the store.
  8. You almost get run over in the parking lot...crazy teenage drivers.
  9. All the carts are being used and you have to wait in line to get one (REALLY bad idea when the 3 year old wants to push a little cart, which is available).
  10. Your 3 year old spills the free milkshake he received from the "Got milk?" van all over your 1 year old.
  11. You are unable to feed your STARVING, therefore screaming, one year old the cherry tomatoes you just put in the surreptitiously-obtained cart because you are out of wipees due to milkshake clean up.
  12. The threat of snow has caused a run on bananas and canned tomatoes (???)
  13. The lines to checkout are all the way back to the meat section.
  14. The just purchased rotisserie chicken leaks all over your khaki pants.
  15. You set your 1 year old down to try and fix the leak and she takes off to the parking lot.
  16. You are cut off by another surreptitiously obtained cart on your race to stop your 1 year old. Thank God for random strangers who have the sense to pick up the 1 year old as passersby gawk!

It's just a snow storm people! It's going to be 60 on Saturday. PLEASE CALM DOWN!
