Whew, what a busy few days we've had. We spent the weekend in CO and actually ended up getting stuck. Our 3 year old lemon of a car broke again (something goes wrong about once a month these days). This time it was a couple coils. It just took a day to fix but we didn't know it was broken until our car was loaded down ready to drive home on Sunday. So Matt flew home on a last minute ticket and I stayed in CO with the kids, driving home Tuesday.
It meant an extra day of fun with Bompa and YiaYia, so the kids had fun. We spent Saturday watching cousin Emily's soccer game and then headed to the zoo.

Grayson and Nicholas were inseparable. They kept looking at the map and telling us we were going to see the camels.

Matalley didn't get a nap until almost 6pm.

She's peeking into one of the exhibits here.

We got to celebrate my SIL's b-day and have a picnic at a park. Plus Monday we were able to go to the science museum and see the dinosaurs and a new human body exhibit. Grayson determined that Capt. Crunch has more sugar than cheerios (almost 8 grams more per itty bitty scoop) during a science experiment and also learned about good bacteria. He's gone around the house the last few days explaining that he learned "tons" at the museum. At one point I had to put him to bed when he didn't want to go to sleep and so he told me "you're a bad guy." That seems right on track for healthy anger management.
Only truly bad thing, besides the frustration with the car, was that Grayson chopped down hard on his tongue when he fell at the playground. It looked pretty torn up but hey, at least it was still intact. Eating was a little rough for a couple days. But as Grayson says, "God heals everything" so he's all better now.
We made the drive home without incidence, although our 20 minute rest stop turned into an hour at McDonalds with me cringing at every germy touch on the playground. And Grayson kept calling this little girl, Sam, a boy which made Sam's Mom mad (in G's defense, Sam was dressed in boy's clothes). We got home just in time to have a celebratory year-end dinner with our community life group. So yesterday we just rested:)
