Plane trip

My grandparents 60th anniversary was Friday and so there was a little shindig. As luck would have it, Matt was scheduled to go to Costa Rica on a mission trip so I had the perfect excuse to travel with the kiddos to CO for the party and to see my precious new nieces (although I didn't know for sure if they would arrive before my trip was planned...how awesome that they arrived a week before!!)

We had an uneventful first plane ride for Lola. Miss M had the window seat...And G had the aisle (the shorts he is wearing are his FAVORITE because "they are like sweatpants that have been cut off."...hoping he'll be able to explain that to me some day). They played with sticker books the whole time. Sadly, I don't have a good picture of Lola's first plane trip sitting in the middle with me, but it looked pretty much like this...First stop was a trip to see the cousins. Lola seemed so small until I stuck her next to her 6 week younger cousins. It's amazing how much she has changed in just a few short weeks!!Friday we headed to Meeker. The 4 hour trip took 7 hours with stops to feed Lola and the kids. Once there, Matalley got plenty of Bumble Bee buzzing/poking ("a bumblebee comes out of the barn, broomstick sticking under his arm, bzzzzzzzz," poke) time with ProPompa. She also had a dance performance with the big girls. She followed along with all their moves to Lady Gaga 'Born This Way'Getting plenty of attention from her Aunt Krissy (Grayson is absent from these pics because he was off playing with Nicholas somewhere for most the night...he told me he would rather stay in CO to play with Nicholas than to come home with me).YiaYia rocking Lola after setting up for Old Timers. Aunt Carol and Uncle Rich were in charge of it this year (an annual dance in Meeker for people who have lived in Meeker over 30 years or who were born and raised there). I loved heading into the banquet room and seeing the entire family helping to set tables. Later, Bompa had a pretend marshmallow roastThe return trip to Denver also took 7 hours due to multiple stops and traffic. Lola had a lovely blowout all over me during one stop and the homeless guy on the corner asked if I was okay (considering I had poop all over me, another 3 hours still to drive, and just wipees to clean it up, it was a little humbling).

Glad to be back home with Matt in the same place! I'm also very tired. I am still setting the alarm every 4 hours at night to feed Lola which means I get 2 sets of 2.5 hours of sleep a night (half hour to wake her up, 45 min to feed and 15 minutes for me to get back to sleep). Hoping that at her 2 month appointment, the doctor will allow me to let her sleep through the night. It's ironic that I have a baby who is so laid back and yet I can't enjoy it.
