Catching Up

Last week Matalley overheard Grayson and me arguing about what I was going to cook for breakfast. Matalley chimed in with a very authoratative voice, "All right guys, no one gets to be the guest today."

My sister and her husband went to South Africa for their honeymoon. Matalley recently learned that the Nile crocodile lives in Africa. One morning she woke up to ask me if Krissy had been eaten by a crocodile. During our dinner prayer, she requested "for people to be safe from crocodiles." Krissy, please return with no stories of crocodiles!

Last Wednesday I took the kids to the AQHA World Championship. We happened to be there for the team penning event and the kids (well Grayson and Matalley...Lola just watched) got really into it. They would cheer for the cowboys when they got all 3 cows in the corral. Grayson would even start yelling to them when the isolated cow tried to rejoin the herd. Maybe I should get them in rodeo lessons:)

We had a great labor day weekend visiting family. How can you not love a hotel when it has cool things to ride one?
We visited family cousins...Shadlee and Dave. (They have grandkids so they at least understood the chaos of 3 cuties).I took Grayson out of school Friday (is that bad?) so that we could get down there early enough for the first Baylor football game. I taught them some nursery rhymes and took them to the children's museum so maybe he learned as much as he would have. The children's museum was great...the kids spent about an hour at this water feature building dams and levees. They also wrote their names out in braille and hieroglyphics, gave a tea party, rode around in some police cars, and pretended to be cowboys. I know some people enjoy going to beaches on vacations but for me, museums are the best bang for my buck. I'm not going to relax (at least until the kids are old enough to sit through a meal without spilling, crying, falling, yelling, etc) and museums provide all the entertainment value when I am just worn out.

Baylor had a very intense win over TCU so Bobo took Grayson out onto the field in the midst of the celebration. Mimi's never dissapoints. This time she had a store set up with items priced just right. She gave the kids money bags and opened the store for a few minutes every hour or so to give them a chance to find a new toy to play with for an hour.Got back Monday in time for dinner and bedtime routine so we are back to the grind. Lola was a perfect angel through it all...man she's a good baby.
