Super Dad

So it was another weekend away for Mom...how lucky can a girl be?  I have to have one pretty amazing husband, I know that.  Not only did he solo parent for the weekend, he took them to Chick-fil-a for cow appreciation day and made the costumes himself (I'm guessing the CFA staff were impressed with Super Dad because I don't think I would have gotten away with Lola in a paper bag and bunny ears on the kids.  I am pleased with his resourcefulness though!).  He made dinner as well since I didn't get a chance to make anything for him...and it wasn't frozen pizza!!
I enjoyed another Beth Moore conference...this one on the elasticity of the human soul in Austin.  It was amazing and so was the girl time with my chicas.

I feel very blessed to be surrounded by such a wonderful group of ladies supporting and loving me despite my quirky qualities.
We enjoyed a day on Lake Austin (can you believe I got on a boat sitting in stinky lake water and then went tubing on top of that?!?...miracle of all miracles if you know about my boat and fish/bird poop phobias).  We also went shopping in San Marcos...this is what my van looked like on the trip back.
Not sure what the rest of summer will bring but I am looking forward to loving on my new niece before school starts and enjoying some more relaxing (ha, ha) days with the kids.  We saw the movie Brave on my birthday.  Matalley leaned over to me and said, "Mommy, I'm not so brave."  It was great to have her on my lap cuddling instead.
