Alien Landing

Crossing things off my list, including FINALLY hosting Grayson's 7th birthday party.  Since Grayson's birthday weekend was the one right before the first day of school, we decided to wait until things calmed down and we got into a routine before shaking things up with a crazy seven year old party.  Sadly, it took me 2 months to figure it out.  Grayson wanted an alien party but frankly, I was too overloaded to figure out how to make a space theme party at home.  Last weekend, I told Grayson we'd take him to the pumpkin patch.  The weather was fabulous but with Matalley falling sick, we decided not to wait a week.  Grayson felt like we were catering to Matalley a little too much (i.e. we loved her more, hence the juice instead of milk at every meal, the fun chicken soup instead of crab bisque, the laying on the couch watching tv instead of helping Dad with yard work, etc.).  It was just too much for him to hear that we couldn't go to the pumpkin patch because of miss Favorite:)  So I promised a trip this weekend and then thought, "hey, why don't we have your birthday party there too?!?"

It was a little ambitious to plan in such a short amount of time but I am one happy momma tonight to have it done!  Instead of beautiful 70's, we had cold 40's but it didn't deter our fun.  Grayson and 4 of his closest school buds joined us at the pumpkin patch and then home for alien food and cake.
On the drive over, I heard lots of conversation revolving around butts, "it's so money," and dirt bikes/wrestling.  They were also VERY rambunctious at the pumpkin patch...matt and I were outnumbered.  They are all in the same class in school and said that they were a family.
Lola was freezing, yet still the best behaved out of the bunch...no crying, complaining and she kept her winter gear on.

One of the boys has a sister in Matalley's class so she joined us too.  Matalley had so much more fun with a friend instead of following those rough boys around.

Aliens at the dinner table.
Doesn't Grayson look so old here?  He was super bummed when the party was over and his expression of gratitude almost makes me want to do it again next week (almost!).
