Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas!  We awoke to a white Christmas in Amarillo.  It was beautiful and perfect weather for staying inside.  The night before started with opening a Christmas present (and it always happens to be pajamas).
Reading the story of Jesus' birth
Santa visits!  Matalley asked for a matching American Girl Doll.  I was a little nervous for her response when she received Addy (her story is about the freedom trail after her Dad is sold to another slave owner).  But Matalley was thrilled and is carrying her everywhere...even sets a place for her at dinner.  She also received some matching clothes with Addy so all is okay.
Lola received a stroller and Asian baby doll (we had a multicultural Christmas).  She was very into opening the presents...liked peeling away the paper on everyone's gifts.
They all received headphones from Tia.  The cutest thing was Lola opening up legos; I think the other kids' excitement caused her to start screaming, "legos, legos, legos!!"
She was also interested in the gifts other people received...
The last present was a scavenger hunt from Bobo and Pops to a box of playground equipment (to be assembled when the weather is warmer).  They had so much fun with the hunt, they created their own while we were making dinner.  Grayson wrote the clues himself:
  1. We are talking about the gift of Christmas.  The first clue shall start in Matalley's comfy place. (her bed)
  2. Maybe Jesus didn't wash stuff, but we wash stuff in Matalley and Grayson's bathroom.  You may look there but this clue is somewhere where Matalley stands. (Bathroom stool)
  3. Now you know what you are doing so let's start people!  The second clue is one you surely will watch stuff where this clue is. (tv)
  4. Where Matalley and me look but Jesus died for our sins (cross near nativity scene)
  5. This is where it is so lets rejoice and say yipee Jesus is born!

We enjoyed a lamb roast for dinner
And a chocolate sheet cake for Jesus' birthday cake
