Sweet Lola was diagnosed with the flu tonight. Poor girl has been so good today, you'd never have guessed she was feeling so yucky. The 103.7 fever caused her to be a little sleepy but she was still sweet and cuddly and singing songs. We've got her on tamiflu which she does not like. A half hour after taking it she was still telling me it was yucky. On top of all that, she decided yesterday to wear real underwear...no more diapers. While I respect her decision, I'm not too keen on the timing. I thought we'd wait until at least a few weeks after 2bits' arrival. She had accidents yesterday and 1 today but all in all, I guess it's going well. We'll see how we fare the rest of the week. Since we are pretty much stuck inside for a few days, it might work out. My goal now is just for everyone to be healthy when 2bits makes her grand appearance. (And yes, we all got the flu mist/shot back in October so I'm not too happy about the added expenses of tamiflu to our budget right before a big old hospital bill since we don't have maternity coverage or prescription drug coverage. It's just money though, C'est la vie)
We are all a little anxious for her arrival. The girls are now sleeping in the same room together. It's made for some long nights of winding down. I know it's possible since my sister and I shared a room until I left for college but I didn't think the transition would be quite so disruptive for as long as it has been. This morning I heard Lola tell Grayson, "Get out of Mat....get out of MY room." It has obviously not taken long for her to claim ownership.
I wonder lots about what 2bits will look like. She's got 3 cuties ahead of her; one of whom is really looking forward to feeding her and changing her diaper. I forgot to post this of Lola's Christmas party at school. She had a cookie to paint with frosting and then she got to eat both the palate and the cookie...pure bliss for Lola.
The night of the Fiesta Bowl, Lola got some help with her princess get up. We've sorted the costumes in the girls' room in order to fit another wardrobe in the closet. Lola is looking forward to more help from Bompa in fitting accessories.
After a technology gift request Christmas, this is what you expect to see while making dinner. Sitting on the back of the couch is not okay by the way.
We are also hoping everyone feels good to celebrate this little one turning 6. She has requested an ice cream party despite the expected cold temps for the day. We had a short hike while in Denver...Matalley may be my nature girl too.
