I did it! I successfully managed to get three kids and a nursing baby to basketball practice on time today. I'm not going to say it was stress free...Matalley was crying because I said she couldn't have dessert until after she picked up Millie's room (where they played school this afternoon) after basketball practice, Lola was very concerned about taking her drink, my purse strap broke spilling my wallet and fruit snacks everywhere, and Grayson kept dribbling his ball. I sound like the Brady Bunch rerun when Bobby keeps repeating, "Mom always said don't play ball in the house." I did feed Millie prior to leaving so that I wouldn't have to worry about her tears along the route. We made it just 3 minutes late so I considered it a success. I'm hoping it gets easier. Poor Millie is going to spend a lot of her first year in the carseat though.
Tonight's fiasco doesn't even compare to the ordeal we went through last night. Matt was at church for a session meeting so I had to do our evening routine while keeping Millie happy. Just as I got the kids into bed, the toilet flooded in the kid's bathroom. Not only were the kids over excited about the flood, but Millie decided it was time to eat. I was covered in toilet water trying to get the flood under control...NOT HAPPY! I'm so thankful for facetime and my Dad's availability to help me get the water under control.
We were visited by Bobo and Pops today. They helped with pick up and brought some yummy dinner too. I feel very blessed to be pampered with meals. Our friends have planned a meal calendar and we won't be cooking anything for at least 3 weeks...18 meals!! Plus I've had numerous offers for kid chauffeurs and other help. It's so nice to feel loved!
I also took Millie in to weigh her (just in case I need to increase feeding times before her 2 week visit). She is at least 8 lbs. so I am happy. All in all, it's another success!
