Staying the course

Millie's 6 month appointment was hard to watch. She just smiles so big and is babbling and then WHAM, 2 shots, 1 to each thigh and she looks at me and just cries. I hated it. I don't like well visits at all, except that I get to find out where they my kid is on the charts. (I didn't even like that part with the other 3 since they always dropped in the percentiles for weight and I had to justify how much they were eating). With Millie, she just stays the course...50%ile for height, weight and head circumference. Yahoo!  25 1/4 inches tall, 15 lbs, 10 ou. and head circumference of 41.7cm. If not for those darn shots, it was a great visit. So many things are difficult about parenting. If ever I was insecure about anything, parenting tops the list. There is no guarantee, no do overs and no perfect formula. Sometimes I joke that if CPS were to show up on my doorstep, I'd wave my white flag and let someone else give it a try. Of course giving up these cuties would be impossible...
Especially when they bring me breakfast in bed...the sugar/calorie free kind.

We are enjoying our summer by the pool.
Just makes me sad to think that next year she'll be swimming without these.
And last week we participated in a service project making lunches for neighborhood children. It was a great service project because even Lola could help.
Grayson was a very hard worker...filling lunch bags, moving boxes, and then he was put on popcorn duty which he thought was lots of fun.
The group delivers the bags via bicycles after getting them all loaded in huge trailers. Once we get a little bit bigger, we can go on the deliveries as well. And Millie is well on her way for that!
