Summer was filled with typical summer things...water balloons, bicycles, pool towels everywhere, lazy mornings, lots of summer camps, chaos and our attempt at gardening. Our little garden out back produced a few tomatoes and some basil...that was it. I don't know what we did wrong but at least the little produce we did receive didn't go to waste...Matalley's new favorite pizza is tomato basil. Luckily, we have friends who are much better at gardening. We volunteered at a local food bank garden and learned quite a bit (not enough to explain why we were not more fruitful)
Grayson has such a gift of service. He loves volunteering!
We also have good friends with a massive garden that allowed us to come and pick all we could ever want. We have a lot of green beans and zucchini for the winter because of their generosity in sharing such a bountiful harvest. Millie was more contained because she couldn't figure a way up, rather than really helpful
Then once we got back, it was prepping for freezing and eating! Notice Millie doing her crazy thing. And Grayson likes to do volunteer work for others but for Mom, it depends on his mood...he was a little cranky here but it did get done.
