I often tell people that God gave me four kids because I wasn't humble enough after the first 3. Miss Millie seems to be the cherry on top because she moves SO fast. I just can't keep up. Yesterday morning I made a mistake dropping off the wrong folders for a work gig so I had to go back yesterday afternoon with Millie in tow to correct the mistake. She walked in so sweetly and then promptly grabbed the crotch of my client while we discussed the revisions. He was very kind but my humiliation could not have been greater. Serious.
I fear the terrific 2s and all the humble moments I am sure to encounter. We are making progress in the vocal department though which is encouraging. Millie talks ALL the time but I don't understand much of what she says. The other day in the car she was whining and crying and screaming for an object I was unable to identify no matter how many jabbing points she made toward the middle console. Finally she said, "backpack" as clear as could be and made it clear that she was talking about the small diaper bag. I was so excited that she formulated a word even if it was the wrong word...it was a moment of genius for her.
I took all the girls in for haircuts. It was Millie's first haircut. She made herself comfortable by taking off her shoes.
She liked the results.
