Lola turns 5!

How is it possible that this little sweet thing is 5?

The arrival of her birthday didn't have as much fanfare as Ms. Matalley prefers. She convinced Lola to take breakfast in bed and subtlety hinted at the appropriate restaurant choice.

 Lola followed sister's instructions precisely but thoroughly enjoyed it all as well. 

 She hammed it up for Grayson, the photographer.

Lola Kate is a joy to all who know her. She loves her siblings, LOVES to swing and play outside, loves ballet and soccer and her new Kit Kitridge doll. She's competitive and silly. She hates to have her hair brushed and wishes it was straight but her curly locks are perfectly fitting for her spunky positive attitude. She takes everything in stride and defers decisions/responses to the wise counsel of her older siblings. Asking her what type of a party she wanted created a stress load she didn't want to bear. She knew she wanted a chocolate fountain and a piñata so I gave her 2 options: A mermaid party or a candyland party. After days of going back and forth, she decided on a mermaid party. I completed pinterest research and we headed to the store for craft supplies to make some invitations. Of course once we arrived and I began looking for shell paper, she decided to change her mind. SO CANDYLAND PARTY, to celebrate turning 5, it is!

We had a life size candyland game taking players throughout the house to different stations of candy fun. We made gumball necklaces, played lollipop toss, built gumdrop castles

 and frosted graham cracker houses

 and of course the chocolate fountain

 We ended with the piñata

 and cupcakes

I am so very glad she enjoyed her special day!
