Season of busy

The weekend of Lola's birthday party, also happened to have 3 soccer games, a track meet, 2 ballet recitals and the school sock hop. It was a miracle that we only had one conflict with all of that over the course of 48 hours. In addition YiaYia and Bompa made a special trip to come see it all and we dragged them all over Amarillo with us.

We even threw in a special guest speaker at church and a symphony concert. I think they were relieved to go home but we have missed them this week. Grayson has learned to put ice cream in his hot chocolate (one of Bompa's special tricks) and YiaYia was great help to Matalley with her story problems. I was most appreciative of their ability to sit through 2 ballet recitals. Matalley's was first and she did a beautiful job.

Lola had hers the next day and she had her dance down.

Matalley prefers gymnastics over ballet (ever the cheerleader despite her beautiful poise) and Lola can't wait for ballet to start up again. The track meet was crazy windy (we do live in Amarillo, one of the top 3 windiest places in all the U.S) but Matalley did well. She is faster than last year, but really just likes sports for the social aspect so I think being faster might just have to do with being taller:) Grayson is playing goalie for his indoor soccer team. He's a fairly aggressive goalie and has a powerful kick. It's been fun playing without wind. Lola's team has some work to do but Lola likes to be in the mix. Millie would be in it too if we didn't restrain her so much. The sock hop included a lot of hula hooping and playing on the playground. Lola got a blister from the monkey bars and I served a lot of hot dogs (Go PTA!). I love this season, however tiring it may be, but having a plan for the weekends makes for a lot of fun.
