Yesterday activities meant Matt and I had to split duties to get everyone where they needed to be on time and family dinner wasn't until 7:45 and it was premade by the staff at Sam's Club. As Matt was taking Grayson to band practice, he asked Grayson how the day was. Gray said, "Okay, we cleaned up the house but Mom cried in the bathroom." And yes, that sums it up very nicely.
Also the fact that Millie is still alive is pretty amazing. She can open the front and back doors and just leaves on a whim. Yesterday she discovered how to flush a toilet and then all the things that she could put in the toilet and then I had toilet water all over the house because she came to show me what she had put in the toilet by bringing it to me. yay...
Matalley asked me if Obama was still alive. I explained that he just has to move...not die to leave the white house.
Teacher appreciation week is this week. We had 25 teachers to buy for and the gift sacks cost $1.47 each. One teacher told me she prefers gift cards in a separate conversation after Lola had already given her a gift so I don't think I'll be getting her anything next year. (Last year, she told me she preferred the gift I was giving another teacher over the one she was getting before she even opened it so there is a history there). All of that to say that I don't even know how I could ever show my actual appreciation for all that theses children influencers do for my kids. I hate trying to wrap it up into a bag on a budget. If I had a million dollars...
I sent in an application for a real job this week...not a consulting contract from home but one that would require a sitter. I think I'll apply to quite a bit more over the next week. It's time. Fourth child will either feel gipped or excited that we will get to go on family vacations. And maybe the teachers will feel more appreciated too.
