The last couple weeks are filled with awards ceremonies, graduations and field day/track meets. Matalley participated in a skirt again this year and her team won the tug-o-war. She received the perfectly positive award which describes her completely (unless she has a physical ailment...she's quite the hypochondriac). Matalley has already asked if we can have her teacher over for lunch this summer.
Lola's graduation wasn't as sad as it could have been. She said she wants to be a teacher when she grows up and is SOO excited for Kindergarten. I tell her I'm sad she will be away from me for 5 hours every day and she just grins in her shy way. She's had good practice already for Kindergarten with Matalley relaying EVERYTHING Lola needs to know.
Millie is 2 going on 8. She likes to do exactly what her bigs are doing, even if she's a shrimpy shrimp.
She has been crawling out of her crib for months so we decided to pull the rail off and make her crib a toddler bed for safety. Then I found her at 3 in the morning rummaging through the top cupboard looking for a spare paci in the dark. So much for safety. She likes to climb the book shelves in her room too so I'm back to not sleeping well at night. She likes bananas and chips so we may have to move those items too.
She cut her hair last week just after this picture was taken. Sadly, no one realized it until bedtime. I'm not sure what happened to the hair or what scissors she used. Thank goodness she still has her eyeballs.
When not terrorizing the house (she's a tornado), she likes to hang with her brother. He is quite good to her.
Matalley and Grayson both had end of year music concerts for choir an their instruments. Matalley is so poised playing the piano. Grayson's band is Atomic Band. Gray is a little shy so he's happy to be in the back hiding behind the drums. They played a "Battle of the Bands" with Long Way to the Top, Eye of the Tiger, Perfect, Sweet Child of Mine and We got the Beat. They were second but I think he does a great job.
They were supposed to look tough. I told Gray, he looked annoyed.
Millie might play too.
They played another gig at the bowling alley
and the girls bowled.
Millie didn't like anyone touching her bowling ball.
She is dragged to everything and for the most part doesn't complain but sometimes we have to become creative in our distractions.
Gray received some lovely awards at his ceremony and I'm struggling to think that he's a 5th grader next year!! We love, love, loved his teacher this year. She seemed to get him and his ticker pretty good.
We've been playing family games at night since homework is nil. During Clue, Matt told G that he had a terrible poker face. And Gray responded, "Well, I don't want to play Poker." So I guess he's good with his tells.
Only 1 more day and the summer begins. We are all looking forward to some fun days. Pray we have quality time.
