Well our week hasn't gone as planned. Lola came home from her first day of kindergarten feeling yucky and by he evening Grayson wasn't feeling so hot either. It made for a rough tummy bug night which means Matt and I got little sleep as well. Matalley left for school Tuesday worried that she was all by herself and might get lost. Never fear, she ended up being sent home early as the third of our fam to get the tummy bug. Our living room was a pitiful sight with trash cans, washcloths, water jugs and 3 kids draped lethargically on couches. This is not at all how I pictured this week.
Gray's birthday wasn't quite the party. With it being so close to the beginning of school and also the day after he stayed home sick, no one at school wished him a Happy Birthday (even his teacher forgot, after requesting the information in her back to school meet n greet packet). Lola and Matalley were still feeling terrible and Grayson wasn't 100% and after sleepless nights, Matt and I were not the best company either. We will rally for the weekend.
Thankfully all were back in school today. Matalley didn't want to go for fear that she would throw up in front of everyone (gasp! sad). Lola didn't want to go until Matt said he would bring her lunch. He had already promised Gray a lunch since we were down to 1 vehicle for his birthday and a birthday lunch wasn't possible. (Side note, do you know how much it costs to replace a horn so that you can pass an inspection?...Despite the fact that you never use the horn but could replace it if it was conveniently located and who the heck puts the horn behind the headlights require the bumper to be removed anyway?). So Matt took Lola lunch and then she just cried all the way from gym because her tummy hurt (but she had not thrown up in over 24 hours nor did she have a fever) so he had to bribe her again that he would grab her after school so she didn't have to go to extended day and stay with her until the kids got home...she perked up after that). And then we are back to the reason I wasn't working in the first place...for weeks such as these which hasn't happened since Matalley was in first grade and got the flu. I am hoping for a MUCH better week next week, despite the fact that Matt will be out of town for part of it so we are starting at a deficit.
On a positive note, Grayson LOVES his new water balloon sling shot. Thanks Aunt Krissy and Uncle Andy!
