Spring Break, part 2

After driving to Denver we had a day of "rest" at home. I aimed to clean the house, do laundry, repack and not go crazy with the 4 energy balls that needed to run around. I also wanted badly to see the impressionist exhibit at the art museum. I'm thankful that all were willing and excited to see works by Renoir, Monet and Picasso...it was really cool.

We left early the next day to head due South. I'm not sure why we travel so far because truly the kids would be fine anywhere as long as they get to stay in a hotel with a pool. We spend at least 30 minutes oohing and awing over the soap, TV, and opening all the drawers upon arrival at any hotel. Jockeying for the best bed is also inevitable. Thankfully no wars erupted and we slept well before our next adventure at Fiesta Texas.
It was an all day adventure. Perfect weather and not too crowded.
We walked the Riverwalk treacherously as to not knock anyone in the water. Millie almost failed twice so we decided the boat tour was not a good idea.
We spent time at the Alamo,

Grayson will be going to Bonham next year. The school was named after James Bonham, a soldier that fought in the battle of the Alamo....he's the one Grayson is imitating.
And we also found the name of Jonathan Lindley. He is a great great great great great uncle via marriage of his sister to John Sadler. So Matalley is pretty proud that one of her relatives was in the battle of the Alamo.

Most of the day was spent chasing Millie through crowds (she really did almost knock someone over into the Riverwalk river 2 times) and watched as she defied the rules blatantly posted on the grass to KEEP OFF. It was not embarrassing at all...especially when we ran into 2 families from Amarillo.

We rounded off the trip with a visit to the LBJ ranch.

Millie may have gotten a little tired.
I couldn't leave the south without our annual blue bonnet picture
We had a great time, reaffirmed that Millie doesn't like to sit still, swam at every hotel and made it home in time to unpack and start another load of laundry. The following week, the kids had a month of Texas History in school so they made quite a few connections...bonus.
