Planes
So last week was Matalley's first airplane ride, not to mention my first trip on an airplane with both kids by myself. I didn't even mention it in my last few blogs, but that doesn't mean I wasn't completely relieved, amazed, overjoyed, etc. that my trip went so incredibly smoothly. We made it down the jetway, onto the plane, into our seats without a meltdown or me raising my voice. Made it through take-off by reading a book. Grayson entertained himself watching Diego on the I-Pod, even though I'd forgotten the headphones so he couldn't hear anything. So I was able to read a magazine and Matalley slept until landing in which I successfully nursed her discretely without any screaming from her. We even made it off the plane and into the restroom in time for Grayson to keep a dry pull-up dry. Ironically, our return flight, in which Matt was able to accompany us, was not as successful. Grayson was cranky and had a meltdown as we boarded the plane because he wante
d to put a sticker on his backpack (I know, major trauma:). Thankfully the other passengers just smiled (even if it was a grimacing smile). The stewardess had to reach over me (as I was nursing Matalley before takeoff) to buckle in the carseat. Matalley had a major blow-out up her back in the middle of the flight and I didn't have a change of clothes. So here is a picture of our sweet, naked baby girl on her second flight. Honestly the trip wasn't all that bad. I'm just glad the first one when so smoothly because I don't think I could have handled a cranky kid and poopy baby by myself without shedding a few tears. I'm sure the opportunity will present itself soon enough.

That's a darling picture of little Matalley! I'm glad that the plane rides went fairly well. Especially the one when it was just you... You are a brave woman to even try that!
