Yesterday we went to a baseball game and Grayson was so into it. He watched the bat boys like a hawk and heard everything the announcer said. At one point he's asking me if the guy at bat is Anthony Paul. I am clueless as to what he's saying or how he came up with that name until I realize, Grayson's really listening to the announcer.
He loved the pageant and the rodeo over the 4th in the same way. The pageant (which is the story of how Meeker got it's name...involves indians and the attempt by Nathan Meeker to civilize them) had a bunch of indians on horses. Grayson kept beat to the war dance and loved watching the indians race their horses. The rodeo "had big cows (bull) and baby cows," he expains now. And he'll tell you all about how the baby cows had to go in time out to explain the cutting competition. You can just see the wheels turning in his head as he figures everything out.
