Weekend Tidbits

Last week we went to the Christmas Light Parade downtown. One of the floats had a sign that said "Listen and you could win $100" and Grayson said, "No, Barack Obama already won." They did enjoy all the lights. Matalley watched it all like a hawk.

We also decorated our tree. Grayson was SSSOOOOO excited to put it up...would not calm down and tried to put on ornaments as fast as he could. Matalley would pick up an ornament and I would say "no, no." She would shake her head and then pass me the ornament as if to say, "what? I'm just helping." It's fun to see Grayson react to all the Christmas traditions. He's learning 'Santa Claus is Coming to Town' at daycare and sings it frequently. Last year at this time, he was singing Jingle Bells but it was more like "ingle ells, ingle ells, ingle ells, ingle ells, ingle ells...on and on until he'd shout "hey." How quickly a year passes and it is amazing how much he has learned.

Matt and I enjoyed a marathon date Saturday. We dropped the kids off at Matt's parent's house and drove onto Lubbock where we had lunch, saw a movie, shopped, and attended an office Christmas party (Matt's firm has satellite locations). The kiddos had a great time at Bobo and Pops' house. They baked cookies and put up the train around the tree. Grayson put a nativity scene in one of the train cars so that "Baby Jesus could have a ride."

Last night Grayson got in trouble and as we were talking to him, he was acting silly, not really paying attention, etc. Matt said, "Grayson, it's not funny." Grayson looked at him and said, "I'm not laughing." Smartie.

How exciting to see Christmas through Grayson's eyes!!
Cute pic - both kids have beautiful eyes and amazing eyelashes (I'm jealous!) and loving Matalley's little leggings!
