Does the guilt ever stop?

It's been a crazy week and my guilt'o'meter is at capacity. We started off with Gman and Miss M getting sick on G's birthday. They both came down with fevers of 103 at about the same time. Earlier in the day, we had a picnic lunch at the park and neither ate and Grayson kept complaining that he was hot and tired. I just assumed it was the weather and busy weekend....nice one Mommy.

Sadly, we threw all of Matalley's pacis away Sunday night so she struggled through the 2 days of fever without her coping crutch...great timing Mommy. She is also teething and I'm sure the paci would feel really good to chew on. But for the most part, she really has done great without it. Although now, the endless excuses for not going to sleep at bedtime has begun. While we have a routine, she cries out for about 10 minutes with every possible excuse: book, poopy diaper, wanting Mommy or Daddy, saying goodnight to Grayson, drink, and just the general, "I want that" with a point to the door. All, of course, are fake requests to stall for time. She is such a little tease.

This week also taught me that no matter how hard I try, boys are innately dirty. Matt, being the ever so sweet and helpful husband that he is (I mean, I really am lucky with how much he helps around the house), took a basket full of dirty clothes in front of the washer and folded and put every last thing in the basket away. How he got through the entire basket without questioning the cleanliness status, I don't know. I found the first dirty shirt the next morning and had to go through the tops of all the drawers, shelves, hanging items to find what needed to be washed. Grayson topped that day off by peeing in my leather waste basket in our bedroom. Ask him why he did that, "because I just wanted to." I made him clean it out which he didn't like, but I'm not so sure he won't try something like that again. GROSS!! I do feel guilty though for getting so mad at him. He was just curious and I never told him NOT to pee in the trash basket.
