My little jumping bean...playing with packing bubbles...Last weekend I paid Grayson $5 to pick up the dog poop outside...it was a NASTY job. He of course wanted to spend it immediately so Monday morning we headed to Toys R Us to see how far $5 could get him. In trying to teach him delayed gratification, I encouraged him to save his money so that he could buy a bigger lego set, rather than the very, very small one for $5. He agreed and then today at a discount store, found something else he wanted. So, no big lego set for him. But the money lasted almost a week:)
Over the past 9 months, I picked up some contract work in event planning and Tuesday, the banquet I was working on came together very nicely. There were quite a few last minute snafus, including a power outage downtown in the middle of the program...thank goodness for back up generators that saved the show (they didn't work for another program at the civic center just a few rooms down). Seriously, wherever the devil tried to break it down, God had His hand in everything that resulted and I was so happy with the way it all turned out. I have a super supportive husband and 2 very flexible children that allowed me to bring it all together and that is truly a blessing. Our awesome speaker was Wes Moore and his story tied in perfectly to the vision of the Children's Home. Between Wes and the president of PCH, I honestly don't think anyone there left without shedding a few tears. I thought it was pretty cool to wear a headset all night but my feet were aching by the end of the day. I spent most of Wednesday trying to recoup:) Here are a few pictures of the tables.
And one last thing to catch up on, last week Grayson and I went to the traveling Broadway production of Beauty and the Beast.
Grayson loved the whole show, except for the sappy long songs. But even I got bored a little during those:) His favorite part was when Gaston shot a bird and Lefou completely missed catching it. G's laughter resonated throughout the auditorium on more than one occasion but especially during that scene. He did not like the fight between Gaston and Beast at the end...serious concern over the death of Gaston even after I explained that it wasn't real. So that's the end of Winter, now on to Spring.
