Date Night

Lola talks A LOT.  I think she must talk more than any of her peers because her teachers tell me funny things she's said EVERY pick-up.  And while a lot of times she is just repeating what others say, she understands more than you think.  Yesterday while driving, I asked her to put her boots back on (she and Matalley take off shoes as soon as they get in the car...it is annoying).  She was attempting to do it when a boot fell to the floor and I heard "Ah, dang it!"

It's nice to have a talker because when she's sick, I can ask her what hurts.  Last week, she was screaming in the middle of the night because "ear hurts" so I put some hot washcloths over her ears and debated about an ER visit for some numbing drops.  Thankfully she made it to morning without too much fussiness and we were able to see her doctor for some drops and antibiotics.
Last Friday, I took Matalley to the ballet which she loved (seriously watched each dance with intensity).
It was a rainforest ballet geared to kids and though I know the fact that it went past her bedtime was enticing, she really did enjoy the program.  However, last night Matt and Matalley had a Daddy/Daughter date night (Chick-fil-a puts real tablecloths on the table, has a waiter, dessert, a rose...it's very sweet). And she was SO excited to go with her Daddy to chick-fil-a.  She wanted to wear her fanciest dress to school and I convinced her to wear another dress and if she wanted to change later she could.  Well then during snack time, she got some yogurt on her dress and just started balling because she had ruined her dress for her date (I guess she forgot I told her she could change).  The anticipation was perfect and she had a great time being treated like a lady. She told me "he got me what I wanted." What a good memory for her of how dates should be!
