California (DAY 1)

We woke up oh so early to catch our early flight out to California.  The kids couldn't contain their excitement.

We spent half of our daily allotment for food on breakfast at the airport...lunch at the Denver airport (our layover) was less (I think Amarillo is using the monopoly advantage).

We arrived in Cali, drove to the hotel and took off for Disneyland!  Snow White was waiting for us at the entrance. 

Disney is magical!

And cold in February.  Bompa, how come you are wearing shorts?

 

While in line at the Snow White ride, Pops asked Matalley if she had seen the Snow White movie (which she had...I made them watch a gazillion movies for the past 2 months) and what she thought of it.  Matalley replied, "Well, it's very moving." After a few rides in fantasy land, we caught a parade.  Lots of Disney characters winked or waved at Matalley and Grayson...they really do aim to make it special for each child.

It happened to be a furlough week for the local California schools which meant the lines were a little more crowded than we had planned.

We watched fireworks and caught the Pirates of the Caribbean and Haunted House in New Orleans Square before heading back to the hotel at closing (took advantage of every minute we had at Disney!).
