Matt was super Dad in Disneyland. He collected everyone's ticket and then would go grab us fast passes and he made sure we were never without a fast pass so right before we'd get on a ride using a fast pass, he'd make sure we'd gotten another one. It saved us SO MUCH time waiting in line and walking across the park in search of fast passes (I think he walked twice as far as all of us).
So, the first day at California Adventures, he stood in line for the Radiator Racers ride fast pass. Cars Land just opened in June so the line for Radiator Racers is about 2 hours, plus the ride broke down that morning...imagine the poor people waiting in line with no fast pass:(. Instead, we toured cars land that morning and then headed over to the Mickey Ferris Wheel and other boardwalk attractions.
And then got to head back to cars land and ride Radiator Racers with a 15 minute wait. I think it's my new favorite ride at Disneyland...something to look forward to on our next trip when Lola is old enough to ride. Also fun, is that the cars on display (i.e. the firetruck in the pic below) interact with you...I have no idea how but the Disney cast members say that there is not a person involved...it's like a Rosie from the Jetsons.
We walked over to a Bug's Life circus/carnival land and watched a fun 3D movie (Matalley did not like the stink bug).
Before we flew out to CA, I bought some cheap Target sunglasses that kind of looked like bug eyes. I didn't want to worry about losing something valuable and of course, they made it back to Amarillo in tact (you know that would not have happened if I took my nice glasses).
I loved that Lola could ride all the rides.
The kids met Frick. Tia bought them cute autograph books so we stopped for every character we could find.
All the rides in Bugs Land were built like you had been shrunk down to bug size. We picked the raisin container for this ride and Mommy felt sick (I do not do well on the spinning rides anymore, including Dumbo).
Meeting Mr. and Mrs. Incredible (Grayson is strong and Matalley can fly) after riding the Tower of Terror...Hard to believe that the day before Grayson almost had a heart attack on the Dragon ride and then he went on the Tower of Terror(it has the name terror in it!!).
Lola got to meet Minnie Mouse while we rode "Soarin' over California."
Our goal was to go back to the hotel for a nap before dinner at Ariel's grotto but the kids would not wind down. We should have saved the walk and just ridden rides. Matalley was happy to meet Ariel, her favorite princess.
Dinner was delicious but cold (the view was pretty though).
And then we got to meet the princesses. All were very sweet and talked to the kids like they were the only ones there. I love that about Disney!
Then we finally met Cinderella for Lola.
And then we failed to get a picture of Lola with Cinderella.

And then Snow White...love the way Matalley is holding her hand and even though she asked, she still doesn't understand why Snow White took the apple from the mean witch.
After that, we went back to Cars Land to ride Luigi's Tires
So fun...leaning in the direction you want to go. It's like you are on an air hockey table.
Then back to Hollywood land to finish out the rides there.
Instead of the Muppets we watched a 4-D preview for the new Wizard of Oz movie.
It was Bobo and Pops' last night with us but we were sure happy to have them with us. How many kids can say they went to Disneyland with all their grandparents?
