Artists at Work

Art has already made a huge impact on our home this summer...namely in the amount of projects and works we have displayed around our house. Elementary school only includes art once a month during art club so the school year is fairly limited to the few hours the kids are home for projects and such. The summer however is like an explosion of creativity and some pretty fun art camps as well. We started with a party at our local museum in honor of a show by John Himmelfarb and his trucks. It was a perfect day under a blue sky
And Millie was in a great mood though she doesn't look like it.
And the other kids had fun too
The kids will all have art camp at some point this summer. Lola went first and she loved it. She drew us a picture of "Starry Night" so I'm thinking I need to take her to France so we can see where van Gogh actually painted it....some day.
Later this summer Matt and I had a fun date night at the art museum listening to Hayden Pedico during the filming of a PBS documentary. We felt very swanky.
We know our roots though...we also watched a cattle drive through town this month so no worries that we are getting too big for our britches on this culture stuff.
Kind of crazy to see steer through the middle of downtown and they were taller than all of us and yet we just watched calmly...no running and screaming to get away:)
Millie thinks she is bigger than she is. Besides the constant movement of my stuff, she now works on the computer before bedtime. She probably understands it all better than me at this point.
